The Basic Blended Eye

I created this neutral, everyday look using just 3 colors from the Kat Von D True Romance Eye Shadow Palette in Saint. Heavens, a shimmering irridescent white, <3, a mostly matte flesh-tone, and Caravaggio, a mostly matte mocha brown. Of course you can use any 3 similar colors to recreate this look because it's all in the blending! For step 1, I used the Smashbox tapered shadow brush #7. To create the outer v in step 3 I used the Smashbox definer brush #15. For blending in step 4 I used a stiff, domed crease brush with short bristles, like the MAC 217.

This look is perfect for everyday, & its gorgeous with bright red lips!

How to Wear Red Hair: Dont be afraid of bright lipstick!

Something about red hair and pink lips makes the right skin tone glow! We usually shy away from a colorful makeup palette when we think red hair, especially pink since it may clash". But they compliment eachother beautifully since they are naturally found side by side on the color wheel & in nature itself...think sunset!
Some inspiration...

How to: Quick Fix for Mascara Mishaps

For my first ever pictorial, a quick & easy way to clean up those dots of mascara that you get all over your skin when you almost stab yourself, or when you try to get your bottom lashes but keep getting mascara all under your eye...
All you need is a clean, disposable mascara wand. You can buy a package of them at the drugstore or at Sally's Beauty Supply. They're a good investment because you can use them to remove accidental mascara smudges, blend & tame eyebrows, brush out eyelash extensions, etc... And they're cheap. Make sure the smudge is completely dry, then gently scrape it off and you won't have to fix your eye makeup again! Saves my life almost every morning! You're welcome ;)

The Best Products For a Long Lasting Blow-Dry (In Any Weather)

Its summer, and in Houston that means 90°+ heat, 85% humidity, and the possibilty of a random thunderstorm popping up at any moment. If anyone can tell you how to get your blowdry smooth, weightless, and lasting for days (and I mean days) a Houston stylist can, so I asked my co-workers at Beautique Day Spa and Salon to help me narrow down our favorites...

Form Fatale Bodifying All-Over Gel by Kerastase

This blow-dry gel is much different than a men's styling gel, so don't let that scare you. It's not sticky or stiff, and Form Fatale has an extra-fine texture that perfectly shapes hair to give all-over volume and body that lasts. It leaves hair super shiny and provides UV and heat protection, all without weighing hair down one bit.

Big Sexy Hair Root Pump Plus

A humidity resistant volumizing spray mousse with serious results that wont fall flat. It's designed to create mega-volume by pumping up the root with extra-hold and its great for long or heavy hair. Spray this mousse into the crown of damp hair for amazing lift!

Oleo Relax Slim by Kerastase

If you have rebellious, dry, curly, or frizzy hair that needs extra smoothing this one provides 24-hour frizz control and reduces volume by 50% - if you can't seem to get your mane under control you will fall in love with Oleo Relax Slim! It nourishes the hair fiber from within- sealing water out- and creating optimal shine and softness. Apply to towel dried hair, start with a small amount at the ends and work your way up. To tame those uber-curly baby hairs around your face, hit them with what's left on your hands.

Oribe Soft Lacquer Heat Styling Spray

This spray not only does wonders to lock in curling and flat iron styles, its great for holding down your blow-dry curl, too! It gives heat protection and an incredible lacquer-like shine that will stay curled, smoothed, or flipped in the toughest conditions on the most "stick straight" hair. After hair is about 70% dry, spray onto each section as you round brush.

Bumble and Bumble Dryspun Finish

This buildable dry finishing spray acts like a dry shampoo. It soaks up oil and gives hair a soft, airy texture that creates instant, amazing volume. It's GREAT on fine flat hair. (FYI we are straight up addicted to this stuff!) Once your hair is dry, spray to your heart's content into roots and underneath layers. You can use this to freshen up your style as often as you want- it will hold off greasy roots and add days to your style!

Peach Lips

Orange-Red and Coralu.s.ps have been popular lately, and now the freshest take on nude is peach lips. Its a great summer look, perfect on brides, and can be striking in matte.
Peach works wonders for almost any skin tone...."I love how it brings out green eyes, makes tan skin look so tan and rich and fair skin look so pretty and pastel. It brings out green and blue eyes and looks gorgeous in stick or gloss form," says makeup artist Cara in her original post on  Maskcara.com.
